Online rental con!

The BELO is often contacted by new arrivals in Brussels who fall victim to fraudulent real estate ads. It often involves attractive offers that are posted on specialist websites such as Immoweb.

For the most part the parties lose money during negotiations before the so-called rental contract. The crooks claim to be wealthy property owners who live abroad. They require an initial rent and security deposit in exchange for the handover of the keys, which, however, never takes place. There never seems to be an intermediary, the property owner is the only one who has the keys and payment is systematically made through Western Union. Be careful!

Always demand a viewing of the premises if you are interested.

European institutions Open Doors Day: Festival of Europe and European Citizens!

The European institutions will open their doors again on 4 May. As of 10 a.m., you can visit the European Parliament, the European Commission, the Council of Ministers, the Economic and Social Committee and the Committee of the Regions. Stop at the numerous information booths and discover what impact Europe has on your daily life. It will include a children's village and (citizen's) debates, concerts and street activities.

The free performance by Hooverphonic on Place des Palais in Brussels spans the bridge between the Festival of Europe and the Iris Festival on Sunday.

Take the whimsical train from the Brussels-Europe Liaison Office that connects the European institutions or visit our stands in the European Parliament and the Committee of the Regions.

Your opinion is appreciated: cultural pedestrian itinerary in the European quarter!

How do you perceive, as a user of the European quarter, a cultural pedestrian itinerary between Place Royale and the Cinquantenaire?

The Agency for Territorial Development (ADT/ATO) of the Brussels Capital Region has entrusted ERU vzw, an urban development agency, with a study to improve the passageway between Place Royale and the Cinquantenaire and to make these public spaces more enjoyable.
